So it is that time of the year again. No no, not Super Bowl time. Heck, who knows if we'll actually have one next year. It is a time the NCAA and sports world calls March Madness. I personally wish that stood for good shopping sales at the mall. For the next three weeks the best of men's college basketball will battle it out to be crowned champion.
The bracket selections were announced yesterday and people will begin to feverishly fill them out. I personally am rooting for UCONN and Texas. UCONN because I want to see this sort of underdog, young team come out and dominate. I also love Kemba Walker and was especially impressed with his play, stamina, and poise during the Big East Tournament.
I am rooting for Texas because it is sort of a joke I have with my coworkers. To make a long story short, the woman who does the ordering brought it a butt load of Texas sweatshirts, shirts, shorts and bags and we have sold maybe two things total. So I just decided to root for them since she brought in the most random teams for our area and needless to say it is all sale now. Oh hey, there is a "March Madness" shopping sale after all!
Anyway, with the madness ready to unfold, all eyes will be on NCAA men's basketball for the next few weeks. Will Kansas make another early exit? Will Duke roll into the tournament strong off of their win against North Carolina? Will Duke win back to back years? How will the number one overall seed Ohio State fair during the tournament?
All of these questions will be answered over the next few weeks and on April 4 we will have a champion.
