Trash talking is nothing new to Rex Ryan. And sure, until now it has worked since his Jets are on their way to their second consecutive AFC Championship. Ryan is arrogant, cocky and doesn't know when to stop. I suppose if I were a Jets fan I would love rants; they would make me feel like my team already has a date in Dallas on February 6th. It is pretty sad because I feel without his confident trash talking Jet fans would not feel so sure about their teams chances.
Although I do not agree with how he handles himself, he sure bring confidence not only to the Jet nation but to his team as well. The players are beginning to act like Ryan, playing tough and acting cocky. We all remember Braylon Edwards flying all over the air after the win against the Pats Sunday.
Regardless of the rants, Ryan has his team where they are because of his coaching. It is a shame because his trash talking overshadows what is really going on in the Jet camp: they are where they are because of the way they are playing, not the way they are trash talking. I would have a lot more respect for them and Ryan if they would shut their mouths and play the game. But hey, they are walking the walk so they continue to talk the talk.
On Sunday I hope the Steelers come out and stomp all over the Jets and put Rex Ryan's foot where his mouth is... or he would probably prefer his wife's.
